Real Swiss ambience

Restaurant le Museum has a rich history – the first documents about it date back to 1948, but it is said to have opened long before that. Originally, it was a discotheque and restaurant with a folkloric atmosphere. Jazz was played, and customers came from Sion, Fribourg and Geneva to dance the night away.

This legendary venue has in the past played host to some of the biggest names in music, including world-renowned rock stars such as David Bowie and Mick Jagger, to name but a few.

Swiss cuisine in a historic setting

Some of the dishes on our menu are not so easy to find elsewhere. They are true Swiss classics.

The secrets behind the preparation of our dishes, on the other hand, remain a mystery. They have been handed down from one generation to the next for several decades, during which time we have perfected our skills and know-how to the utmost.

We work with the best local suppliers of cheeses, meats and wines to guarantee the highest quality cuisine.

You’ll eat dishes cooked not only according to traditional recipes, but also using local produce.

Nous avons été émerveillé par cet écrin paisible en vieille ville ainsi que le jardin resplendissant. Nous avons très bien mangé, les serveurs étaient très cordiaux, néanmoins un peu surchargés, compréhensible avec une tablée à 20 en pleine semaine. Nous nous réjouissons de découvrir l'ambiance hivernale qui semble très rustique.
